got in my 94 4.0 today, drove it walgreens (drove fine). Went inside for 5 minutes, came out tried to crank....nothing except the radio came on. Lights worked, everything associated with the battery worked. Engine didn't click, turnover, nothing. I rolled it off, got it home, turned it off. Tried to crank again, same thing. I guess the starter is starting to go bad, any other ideas? thanks.

yup, starter solenoid is failing.

the starter is seperate than the starter solenoid, correct? sorry i'm not too into the mechanical aspect of things.

On the 94 YJ 4.0s I have owned the solenoid sits on top of the starter (like Chevy) and came with the new starter. It's a Japanese starter and costs about $150 +/- (depending) for a rebuilt one.

Yep. Buy a new starter and you get a new solenoid.
