Gibson Dual Exhaust on 2009 YJ Unlimited Question

Hey,

I was installing a Gibson dual exhaust and am having trouble lining up the muffler to the stock pipe. It looks like the piece that is supposed to fit over the stock pipe is not as long as the piece on the stock exhaust. I have experimented with heating the pipe up to expand it and used lubrication but neither was successful. The only other thing I can think of is some how manipulate the metal but dont think I should have to do that. Has anyone had any experience with this? Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

John

I would just take a whizzer wheel or a flapper wheel on a die grinder and remove a little material from teh female pipe (the inside one) if the fit looked to be close enough. if not, I would just go buy some exhaust coupleings and weld them on and call it a day. (or take it to a shop)
