2.5L Exhaust Manifold

got a question wondering if someone could help me out.. my manifold got a fews cracks in it so i went to my local parts store to source a new one they had one there for $85. but in the heat shield it had a tube coming out of it on the #1 cyl tube. the tube is about 1.5" dia. and sticks out about 1.5".. looks like to me it was a EGR pipe?? or is it just a tube in the heat shield to help release heat? it also has a port for a 02 sensor on the manifold at the end. on my jeep my 02 sensor is in my down pipe. does this make a difference?? can i just plug the hold in the manifold and use my downpipe 02 sensor?? basically i wondering if this manifold will fit my jeep without too much trouble.

If the flange to the cylinder head and the flange to the exaust pipes are the same, i would just plug the o2 sensor hole if your engine does not use an upstream(before catalyst) sensor. Do not swap the location of the o2 sensor from it's original location otherwise it will have drivability issues.
