06 rubicon unlimited console removal

how to remove the auto matic shifter console? i think the shifter grommet gave away.

I've got an 05, so it's likely the same. The console is essentially two pieces - the front and the back.

If memory serves, you take out the cup holder insert, and there are some phillip head screws there. Next, you pop out the flat part around the shifter, It just pulls up, then there are screws under that that you remove to get the entire front of the console up.

That is correct if you want the center storage out. From there remove the rear cup holder bottom rubber insert. You will find two bolts to remove. With the front detached it should pull out. Nor sure if you have s factory sub in there what needs to be removed.
