Jk aftermarket wiring

How does everyone have their aftermarket parts wired up? Mine are wired straight to the battery but I was told this is a big no no. I've got my winch, an aftermarket air horn and lights on it.

It should go battery fuse relay light or horn or winch then ground. The switch leg of the relay on ign power. This goes (battery, ign relay) fuse box, fuse, switch, Relay ground.
Be sure your relay is rated for the load. The common size is a 40 A relay but winching may hit some much higher currents (spike).

One reason to not go to the battery is current draw engine off.
Winch should go off of the main lugs of the battery esp if the battery has dual ( top and side) connections. Often the side connections can't handle the current and melt.
