tj defrost trouble

Has any one had any problem with their defrost vent getting jamed up? When I turn on my defrost in my 97 tj, it turns on and air tries to come out but only a little air comes out and the rest of the air is being forced out the side window defrost vents. It also is very noisy (sounds like a vacuum) Any suggestions?

i would suggest popping off the defroster vent cover. It just pops off with a little persuasion, but be careful it can break pretty east, and checking to see for blockage. Maybe there is soe foriegn object blocking the air flow. Also you could try spraying some high PSI air down there using a compressor and see if it flows through. Just a though let us know if it helps

There is a damper in the duct work behind the dash....the only way I know to fix the problem is to remove the duct and replace it with a new one.
