Towing with a YJ?

Thinking about buying a Grand Cherokee Laredo....

I was wondering what kind of experience anyone has had towing a trailer with a 4 cyl YJ. I am buying a 17ft boat with outboard motor. I dont know what the thing weighs but I would guess around 1500lbs.. I know that it would not be a good idea for long distances but what about within 50 miles or so?

I have a 17' Larson Senza ski boat with a 110 outboard and i use my 99 tj with a six to tow it, it does have a 3500lbs towing capacity. And i used to tow it with my 87 yj 4cyl. it wasn't too bad other than step hills. just make sure your brakes work well especially the e brake. Very important on the boat launches. [addsig]
