(Stay tuned for the trip report for the other Rebel run group who tackled Dishpan)

Rebels,
Rebel Offroad's run group #2 took on Gold Mountain and Horsethief at this year's Big Bear Forest Fest. That run group featured our latest project, lead engineer Sandy's Ford F250 SuperDuty. Jason was out with his open differential 08 Unlimited on our bolt-on front coilvoer kit, and Chris/Brian were out in their amazingly capable TJ. The group set off at 0730 for the trail head with 25 rigs in tow. The sizable group made short work of Horsethief - trading technical obstacles for scenic vistas and a more social atmosphere. The tightest spots were still large enough for the SuperDuty.

After Horsethief we did the quick 11 minute drive over to Gold Mountain - more challenging and a totally different look/feel to the trail. More trees meant more opportunity for unexpected pin stripping and shade. The obstacles there revolved around rocks and deeper ruts, testing rig capabilities and traction. Still no major breaks or mishaps!

Afterwards the group aired back up and winded it's way back to basecamp at the ski resort. We spent the rest of the evening at the Rebel booth watching the raffle and meeting new friends. The event sponsors whipped out an RTI ramp that we had tons of fun with. Fun day - fun times, and fond memories!

Cheers,
Bond
