Sorry guys, I am a media savy person and love entertainment and those "Indy" films and such..... My "All Time Favorite Movie" has to be, beyond a doubt, without question "JAWS". I saw it for the first time when I was three and don't swim alone now (I always go with a slower swimmer..... "bait"). What is/are your favorite movie?

Some other of my favorites to get this started.......
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.... 1 1/2hr of a filmed "trip"
The Shawshank Redemption.... very, very good movie
Full Metal Jacket.... a must own
Saving Private Ryan.... not much can top the realism of this one
Smokey and the Bandit.... starring two of the 70's biggest sex symbols (Burt & Sally)
Dazed and Confused.... man, i was born in the wrong generation
Super Troopers.... i almost became a cop 'cause of this one.... almost, I couldn't pass a few tests
Kelly's Heros.... Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalis and Donald Sutherland what a cast
A Fist full of Dollars.... spaghetti westerns rule
Joe Kidd.... spaghetti westerns rule
Two Mules For Sister Sara.... spaghetti westerns rule

....and many others to be listed later....

RE: Front Differential Problem

i like the blues borthers...fast times at ridgemont high...smokey and the bandit...sapceballs...american outlaws...road house...punisher...and more...

Man, prarie, you shouldn't be posing these questions (music, too) to 40-50 year olds - there's not enough space!

Boondock Saints is on the top of mine. Followed by Punisher, Kingdom of Heaven(if you haven't seen it, you need to), Tombstone, The Goonies, The Bourne Identity and Supremecy, and some others that have slipped my mind.

"On Any Sunday" and "American Graphiti" are my top 2 favorites.

Seen them probably a million times and could easily see them another million or two!

RE: How

Praire, I'm the same way. When I first joined I was posting many of these types of questions myself.

My favorite movies, in no particular order:

Drunken Master (best kung fu coreography ever)
Taxi Driver (you lookin at me?)
The Ring
When Harry Met Sally (would you like to partake of some pecan pie?)
Raging Bull
A Bronx Tale (dump her if she doesn't unlock the door for you)
The Breakfast Club (80's claissic)
So I Married and Axe Murderer
Tombstone (i'm your huckleberry)
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Heaven and Earth
The Seven Samurai (Akira Kurosawa at his best)
Godfather 1
Godfather 2 (take the gun, leave the connolli)
Goodfellas
Pulp Fiction (some of the best dialogue...ever)
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Citizen Kane (hard to believe this was done so long ago)
Full Metal Jacket
Kill Bill 1 and 2
Empire of the Sun
The Last Emperor (I skipped school to watch this about 8 times)
Evil Dead 2 (ash is my hero)
Army of Darkness
Big Trouble in Little China (May the wings of liberty never loose a feather)
American Beauty (I rule!)
And maybe someday, Sin City. That was really good!

And now, the worst:
Thin Red Line --(The longest movie...ever, and the only movie I've ever seen where it continues for like 45 min. AFTER the protagonist dies)
Space jam --(Memo to Hollywood, MJ+Film=box office poison)
Escape from LA ---(ruining the rep of Escape from NY)
In the Army Now --(Polly "Shure" does suck in this one)
City By the Sea ---(I fell asleep and everyone was jealous)

And more, just for yucks:
1. Evita
2. Ishtar
3. Cool as Ice (Vanilla Ice kicks)
4. Little Nicky
5. Gymkata
6. Battlefield Earth
7. Anaconda
8. Glitter
9. Judge Dredd
10. Waterworld
11. The Postman
12. Kazaam (Shaq at his best)
13. Rollerball
14. The Adventures of Pluto Nash
15. Freddie got Fingered (Tom Green is a moron)

16. Wing Commander (Freddie Prinze finest)
17. Gigli
18. Dracula (keanu Reeves fighting draco, dude)
19. Bio-dome
20. Highlander: End game (just embarrassing)

RE: HELP- You all have never steered me wrong before.

Please don't laugh at me, I have only one move that ever since I was a child I have adored. A couple of years ago, they did a remake of it and I loved that too. My favorite two movies ever are:

The King and I (Rogers and Hammerstein)
Anna and the King (Jodi Foster)

I have a vast love of musicals but I won't bore you with all the classic titles of musicals I love. I realize not many people enjoy them.

BUT I also love all of these:

Jewel of the Nile
Indiana Jones (ALL)
Big Trouble in Little China
Overboard
Crocadile Dundee (First One)
Practical Magic
Miss Congeniality
There is something about Mary
My big fat greek wedding
Jumanji
Pirates of the Carribean
LOTR Series (ALL)

Lady

Good lord, ain't that the truth!!! I've probably forgotten more movies than you've seen, Prairie Punk!!!

Just a few:

1: Road to Perdition with Tom Hanks is a must see. Hanks is perhaps one of the greatest actors of our era.
2: Castaway, again with Hanks.
3: Kelly's Heroes
4: Pretty much any WWII movie made before 1980.
5: Band of Brothers....produced by Tom Hanks. Yeah, I know, made after 1980, but there are always exceptions.
6: All of the "Police Squad" movies with Leslie Nielsen, starting with Naked Gun at the top of the list.
7: Ice Age
8: Quest for Fire
9: Aliens (the second in the series, the first and all others after the second one sucked).
10: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Again, those are just a few. There are way too many to list, most of which I've forgotten about.

No Adam Sandler fans. Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore are the funniest movies I have ever seen and are without a doubt the most played in my 300+ dvd collection. "he's gonna be a soccer player, yes he is, yes he is" There are about 50 lines from each movie that got my sides splitting. HILARIOUS!

RE: I pulled the trigger on antsinmypants

Hmm.....in no particular order:

Any Mel Brooks film (Young Frankenstein is the Best!)
Dirty Dozen
Two Mules For Sister Sara
Paint Your Wagon
Office Space
Superman I, II, & III (IV was lame attempt for all the broke actors to scrounge a retirement)
Buckaroo Banzai

Pretty much all of my favorites have already been listed. My wife hates this, but I can recite just about every line from every movie I've ever seen. And most of them I've only seen a few dozen times. I could probably say every line from Young Frankenstein from start to finish on a long enough road trip.
