I'm off to Vegas for the wife's 30th birthday in about 10 hours or so. Pretty excited, as I've never been there before (I live near DC). Any tips on what to see / do that won't get me divorced?

Just got back today from there. Shows, gambling, food...start again. I rented a PT cruiser for 16 bucks a day, that made transportation a snap.

Ask your check in clerk if they offer any classes on either game, there free and you get double down coupons. Go to VIP services and get your players cards. Even though you wont get any thing for this trip you will get coupons for later trips.

just go have fun. and don't let the cab drivers take you way out onto the freeway when you want to just go down the strip, they all try that crap and say it's "faster"
They have limo services at the airport. $40 for an hour. We do that everytime we go to get to our hotel its probably $20 more expensive than a cab but its a great way to get into the Vegas feeling!
BTW. It only takes 15 mins to get form the airport to the far end of the strip depending on traffic. Tell the driver to cap you at one hour but have him take you up and down the strip once before dropping you off at your hotel...its very cool
I seem to go like every other year. When I go with my wife she loves checking out all the hotels and casinos more than actually playing the games. We also see shows and there are tons of restaurants. If you havent made show reservations DO IT NOW. All these shows sell out and you might not be able to get into the ones you want. Unless you are a high roller . I would also recommend going to the Venetian (sp?) its really cool and of course you need to pay hommage to Binions on Freemont street, the home poker.
Man I want to go back now...BTW poker tourneys that start at 3AM are the best!
