Hey all,
Just wanted to post pics of the recent incident... was pulling out of the walmart shopping center last monday night... (right turn at the light, was following a car who was turning on red)... dude stops after he's half way thru the intersection (or thats where he ended up after i popped him one, whoops!)... was going less than 5 mph anyways...
anyways, i told the guy i didn't want my insurance to get involved, i was gonna pay cash for this one... seemed like minimal enough damage. Now, at the scene of the accident, i asked both this guy and his passenger if they are ok, which they are. So he says that he'll get 3 estimates for me and call me and let me decide. He calls me up saying it was gonna be $4500. he says that they will probably have a tough time getting the paint to match (they were gonna blend it in) so the job might also require a complete new paint job...
BULL. i call his bluff and ask to see his estimates. we met at the burger king last friday in town and go over the estimates, which i have taken pictures of and they're online with the pics. his estimates were more realistic, $2200 or so... but then he mentions that his neck stiffened up on him. Realizing what i'm getting myself into (paying for the repair and then he follows up with a medical bill) i tell him i'm gonna sleep on it and get back to him on monday (yesterday).
I never tried to screw this guy over, i told him from square one that i realized that i was at fault and would repair his vehicle to the condition it was in before i hit it. so i called up my insurance company and basically handed this whack-job off to them. he'll have a tougher time trying to push around insurance adjusters, lawyers, etc... with his shenanigans.
pics here, i'd post them here but they're pretty big:
