TJ - No Top - Amp Location

Hoping for a touch of advice from ya'll.

I have a 2000 TJ that over the past three months since I have owned it now has no doors, no top, no carpet...........love it!!!!

However I have an amp under the drivers side seat that keeps me from feeling totally comfortable with water.

Thoughts on location, protecting the amp, etc. I would love to be able to spray the entire jeep out without having to worry about the amp.

Thanks in advance.;)

I've seen a few people build boxes out of lexan for amps. I think you have to vent them correctly. I would think that heat build-up might be a problem with that though.

You can do what the factory does. Mount the amp and sub in the center console. Proper ventilation is key. Gotta keep that amp cool. I had my amp mounted to a speaker box in the rear. When I was going to go muddin or if I had the top off for an extended period of time I would just pull the whole unit out.

You could always install a computer fan to cool the amp if it doesn't get very good air circulation...maybe $10 at Fry's.
