hi everyone just can't stand it any more. i just had a good chat with someone from N. Dakota. they talked about how it must be so nice to live in canada with our free health care and high wages. well i can tell you if i could convince my wife i would move to the states in a heart beat and i'll tell you why. 1 our free health care is only free to low income family's with the wage i make if my employer didn't have a medical plan that covered about 75% of the cost it would be about $110 a month for me and my family NOT free.
2 most americans pay around $2 a gallon for gas we pay $1.03 a liter considering there's 3.75 ltrs to a gallon then you convert to american money it costs me about $4.50 a gallon.
3 yes my wage is $20 per hour and my yearly income is between $45 and $50 thousand a year but after income tax and medical ect ect... all my deductions off my cheque i lose about 30% right off the top then i pay 13% tax on everything i buy so my $20 in reality is $11.40 not as high as you thouhgt was it.
4 and lastly for those down in the states that have condemed canada for not backing up the states in iraq don't blam us all the spinless government we had at the time did not speak for all of us no there were not any wmd's but saddam was a monster he has killed millions of his own people the UN talkes about genocide in africa what do they think saddam was doing there just ****ed because the states had the brass nads to stand up to the berocrats and do some thing about him.
so in closing we now have a conservitive government in place so hopefully things up here will improve i don't meen to rant canada is a beutifull country but it's not as great and wounderouse as some think.
