Santa was good to me...

Long story short.... my wife and I have been looking for a daily driver for me (us) since the stomper isn't quite a reliable on road vehicle.
We test drove a WK a while back and was haggling with the dealer on the price... then I called to put a down payment on it one day and it was SOLD.
I was ****ed that we lost it cause my wife didn't wan't to pay an extra 400 bucks.

There wasn't any jeep like it in the area, especially for that price. In the mean time my YJ has some vibe problems right before christmas, which didn't help things. I was determined to find and buy a grand cherokee limited before the new year.... but santa beat me to it.

I found this in my driveway christmas morning...

My wife was the other buyer! I couldn't believe it! She was working with the dealer the whole time and kept me out of it. Good thing it was the one I wanted! I felt so bad that I was ****ed at her for "loosing the vehicle".

Anyway, it's an '05 GC limited, fully loaded, nav, dvd, park assist, bluetooth, homelink, etc... oh and it's got the 5.7 hemi!

So this one is probably not going to be lifted anytime soon, especially since I still have the YJ. But at least I can take my time working on the YJ now that I have this as a DD!

I learned my lesson... never underestimate your wife! haha!

Happy new year peepz.

I keep my little grandson PO'd by telling him I'm setting a trap for that fat old man Santa Claus cause he never brings me NUTHING. That's what I got this year too . . . nuthing. I can only DREAM of something as cool as THAT!!!

You owe your wife a fancy dinner out, dude, that's AWESOME!! the only thing my wife ever gives me is a headache.:spank:

haha, well it's not totally paid for... and I'm going to help of course.
I think she likes it more than me now... she takes it every chance she gets!

My wife and I have been talking about a better mileage DD then out Dodge PU. Mind you, when we met she drove a Ford Escort. Then we bought the house and it had land. So her horse was moved here and we needed a truck for hay. I did not tell her my Jeep could haul hay. I just said we might want to look for a PU. Well the ice storm hit. We wanted to go up to the top of the hill where her folks live and I lost traction. I got out and the car slid down the hill and the car was totaled. Well, we got online and I found the Dakota. It served what she wanted. It was a quad cab(4 door) and it was a 4x4. Its her baby. Now 2 years later and fuel kicking our asses, She started looking at escorts again. I was like no, where we live at, we need a 4x4. So I kept looking at CJ7's pointing out how much roomier they are then my CJ5. Well, She has said we can get a Wrangler. They are prettier then the rusted up ugly CJ5 I have and the CJ7's (rusted worse then mine) and she shown me 8 different YJ's she is looking at. She will not have one that has a lift more then 3 inch. Tires larger then 33's and it has to have a hardtop. It can also have a soft top but the AC must work. I have warped her. All the Jeeps she has shown me have winches. This goes to show, if your gonna try for a new Jeep, show the lady what she does not like or want, so she gets what you really want.

:shades:Nice Christmas present. It looks just like our Jeep Grand Cherokee. It looks Forrest Green. Just like ours. Let me know when the driver seat no longer advances when you start the engine, and no longer recedes when you shut down the engine. That is what happened to ours. I still haven't found out a fix for it.

thanks guys.. we did get an extended warantee that covers anything mechanical so hopefully that will cover anything that goes wrong with it. Did you look through the settings to turn the "auto seat" on and off? That was turned off when we got it.

I'm guessing that the more p***ed you got, the more she was lovin' it!! Gotta love those sneaky wives!!! Congrats on your ride and your wife!!

Nice Christmas gift! Glad you got the one you really wanted!LOL

Oh I know of the thirstyness.... good thing my commute is only 5 miles!
The MDS really does help though (multi displacement system).

What year is your GC?

Thanks for the tip, Joopin, I don't remember if I have tried that already, but I will give it another look.

STEELHEADZ......My Jeep is the exact same year (2005) and model as Joopin's very nice Christmas present. Right down to the color (Forrest Green) and wheels. The last six on my VIN is 531579.

JOOPIN.....Does your GC have the light colored leather interior?

Thereis a TSB released on May 24, 2006 relevant to your concern. It involves taking your GC to a dealership to get the MSM(Memory seat module) re-programed. Have you had it done?

Actually mine is Black on the exterior... it has the light gray on the interior.
oh and I don't know if this will help with the seat advance, but the seat memory stuff won't change if you have the seatbelt on or the jeep in motion. Found that out the hard way!
