    New Jeep!

    Hey everyone, after a lot of trouble with my '97 Wrangler I'm getting a new one for Christmas. It's a 4 cylinder, and although lack of power was a big problem, there were other problems as well. So I want everyone's opinion on the Jeep I'm now considering. I have the opportunity to buy the Jeep for $11,000. Do you think that's a fair price?

    2000 Jeep Wrangler SE, 74K miles, 4.0 six cylinder, A/C, 5 speed, bimini top, sony removeable face cd player, speaker bar with kicker box, big amp very loud, 3.5" tera flex suspension, quick disconnect sway bar, 15" 33" x 12.50" New BFG mud tires on new black rock crawlers, new full size spare, jet chip, custom exhaust, 4.10 gears, lmt slip rear diff, side rock guards, custom bumpers, PIAA front and rear aux lights, tinted windows, electric windows , auto locks with alarm. This jeep drives great at highway speeds and is truly a well taken care of vehicle.

    I'm going to see it tonight at 6. What are some things I should make sure to check out? Are there any problems that are fairly common among Wranglers I should check out? I wasn't there for the purchase of my previous Wrangler and want to make sure that I do everything right and check everything that needs to be checked.

    i know where you can get a great deal on an all-around beauty with nearly 60% more torque than that wrangler you're looking at, with great features (and stereo!) and for a couple thousand less. prettier, too. ;-)
    check out my sweet xj stroker for sale. you've never driven anything quite like it. all kinds of power at the tip of your toe.

    turns some heads, too. ;-)

    Make sure the transmission shifts smoothly between gears, the shifter sliding into each gear easily. Check under for leaks, most importantly where the front axleshafts come out of the axle behind the steering knuckle, the rear main seat at the bellhousing, pinion seals, and transfer case seals. Check the belly skid to see if it's been abused offroad.
