Where to do unlimited VIN checks

I'm heading to the car auction tomorrow, and would like to do 20+ VIN checks. Does anyone know a good service?

I may just sign up for Carfax, but at $70 I figured I'd ask around first

I'm interested in what you find out.
I have car fax but am new to it. I only believe the model at purchase, number of owners and if the title is clean vs reconstructed...

There is also safe check.

Things these checks don't tell you.
What was done to the vehicle and that wasn't reported.
Little around the corner ca$h repair.

Was the owner a smoker

Only services by places that record.
How often the oil was changed.

Recall work or lack of. There is a .gov site that you could check recall notices and completed work vs vin. I'll post that back.

Here is a non gov site

I bought the "unlimited" package from carfax for $70, but when I logged in I found that I can only run 5 vin checks - the "unlimited" searches are only by plate. It put a bad taste in my mouth so I requested a refund before pulling any reports.

I bought 3 reports from instavin for $14. I've only used one of them, however it didn't have much data. It said the car I'm looking at has no salvage history, and reported the mileage, but not much more than that. I'm thinking you may get what you pay for with this.
