Not sure which direction I'll take. I'm thinking LS swap, put wife doesn't think the kids can handle it.

There are websites on how to mod them. If you are serious. One simple one is getting actual rubber on the tires to-improve traction.

Looks like it was junked because the shifter micro switch was bad. So I bought a new shifter and instead of buying a battery for it got an adapter to allow me to use my 20 volt dewalt batteries in this 12 volt car. At this point I got the engine running I just have to permanently wire it up. Then we're off to the races.

We're tearing up the cul-de-sac! The kids are too big, so I pulled the seats out and put a board it there to sit on. Works pretty good.

The 20v DeWalt drill battery really moves this thing.
