My Slow Build

I bought this 97 Sport last summer with 167,000 on it. Its my second Jeep but first TJ. Came with a hardtop but traded it the first day I got it for a new soft top with all the hardware. It was completly stock (even the radio) except for the 30's put on it by the previous owner. Since then I did a few changes to it. Rhinolined the interior. Put Pro Comp rims on it. Removed the sidesteps and put Rubicon guards on it. Changed the tan interior to an 03 agate. Had to use my tan airbag cover so I bedlined it along with the bezel, instrument cover and steering panel. Also bedloned the hood and some other parts.

wow thats a lot of work man and its lookin good. i hope to do a tub swap next year ill make sure to take pics and post them here. my tub is so bad and rusted on the frame mounts. did u have the rinoline done or did u do it urself? if u did how did u do it.

Did it myself. Just ripped the entire interior out. Not that bad once you figure it out. Did mine and a friends YJ in a weekend. Just make sure you prep right. Clean sand and repeat a lot. Very easy to do.

Dennis,
How did the interior turn out? It looks great in the photos. Have you scratched it?

I've used Herculiner in the past, and it worked well on metal, but I've never tried it on anything else.

Interior I used rhinoliner. I like the results. Prep and time is the key. For the hood and other parts I used duplicolor bedliner. Prep is huge. Sanded the area I was spraying cleaned it sanded cleaned sanded and cleaned. Sand enough to get the clear coat of and to scuff the paint. I forget what grit sandpaper I used. I didn't but should have used an adhesion promoter on the parts. I will have to touch up again in the summer. I did use it on my interior parts and they came out awesome. Time is also a key. Don't rush or it looks like junk. Next is my Xterra with bedliner. Waiting until the summer for that.

Put my 31's on.

What about using the duplicolor bedliner on the fiberglass hard top, do you think it would hold up to the weather and adhere to the fiberglass. I'm trying everything I can to help deaden the noise in my 86 CJ project.

Prep is the key. Sand and clean a lot. I used adhesion promotor on the interior parts. I did the hardtop on my old YJ but it didn't do anything for the sound.
