AMC 304/360 engines

It’s real that AMC 304/360 engines have problems with the lubrication between the ignition pinion and the cam-tree pinion. Also I need any recommendation regards pay money for a CJ7 1981 with AMC 360 engines. I know that this is not the original motor and it’s anything that I need to verify… Thanks

Here's the exact procedure i did when i rebuilt my AMC360. Take your time following the step by step procedure. On the engine valley oil passage modification, i used a stainless steel line instead of a steel line. Some of the writeups on this also says to use a high pressure rubber line hose with crimped fittings on the ends. I refuse to do that due to the intense heat that may cause the line to fail prematurely.

Wish I'd read that earlier, just rebuilt my oil pump. It's been several months back I put an intake gasket on my 304, don't remember seeing an oil line there. Did all 304's have 'em or is it just where I'm getting old and my forgeter's getting better and it was in there?
