95-96XJ, and +2000 WJ are preffered because they are the most bolt in style. I believe 93-98ZJ, and 97-2001XJ bolt in. You will need to modify, AKA Beat back your upper-outer cowl/firewall to fit it though. The booster is shaped a little different on ZJ and newer XJs.

quick question... i have seen were people have been putting newer model xj brake boosters in their older xjs... well they say 95 is the best year and 2000+ wj booster... i have a 99 booster will that work? i know i will have to move my washer fluid resevoir but will that be all for it to fit... and i know the pedal rod is longer and i dont have any were to have the rods swapped so could i rig up a plate or bracket of some sort to shorten the length of rod under the dash? let me know... i have a few things i have to put on my jeep so that will be my last on my prject list so i was trying to get a parts list together
