Quick question, if the pump was in good shape and there were no leaks upstream from the pump, if I turned it over would fuel come out the output side of the pump? Is that they way you usually check the operation of the fuel pump? Thanks!

I just returned from a 12 month tour in Afghanistan and am trying to get my jeep cleaned up and back in shape. One of the issues I'm running into is the soft top on my CJ is filthy and appears to be spotted with mildew.
Before I go all out looking for the Magic cleaning compound, I figured...
Hey guys, Need some help here. I just got back from Afghanistan and the Jeep sat for about a year only being driven once every other month or so. September was the last time it ran and I just got home a couple of days ago. We planned on it running a bit more than that but it just did not work...
OK guys, thanks for the help. It actually turned out to be a deteriorated plug for the vacuum tube that comes out of the back of the carb near the electric choke assembly. I have no idea what this vacuum line is for but the rubber plug that had been installed on it had deteriorated and was...
Thanks guys. I was swamped at work today and didn't make it back until late. I'll report back as soon as I can look at it. I really appreciate it.

Got a quick and easy (to someone) question about my carb Idle down. I have a stock 304 in my new (to me) 79 CJ7. When I start it idles at about 2k RPM according to the tach. After warming up and tapping the gas it idles down to about 1k. Idles smooth and sounds great. The problem is, that...
I'm really happy with it for the most part. Unfortunately, The guy I bought it from was not the owner who did the restoration so I'm a little shy on details right now. It's well taken care of and I'm looking forward to learning all I can. What I'd like to do is go through it with a fine tooth...
Hey Group. I'm new to the forums and to Jeeps in General. Just bought my first Jeep 3 days ago and am looking forward learning all I can to take good care of her. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions.
