    IdleDifficutis.

Got n '89 Wrangler that suddenly stated to idle at 2K. Cleaned the TBI, checked for vacuum leaks, no good. Finally backed the fast idle way down. Helped for a few months, but now it's back and this time it's closer to 3K. The rig isn't much but it's my daily driver; any thoughts are...

    Too much heat.

I've got an '89 YJ that has a really good heater. It was appreciated in January. However, it doesn't shut completely off and I don't think it will be as geatly appreciated in July. Any ideas as how to get the thing shut off completely?

    Heater problems?

It doesn't do it all the time. Usually below freezing temps, but not always. doesn't smell like antifreeze and it's not oily.

    Heater problems?

Don't know if this is a jeep problem or not. My 89 YJ will belch a cloud of steam, occaisonally, when the thermostat opens. Annoying at the best. Can't find a reason, myself. I make sure I have a rag handy, so I can see.

    Transmision swap

1st is extremely low. So low I don't get across a stoplight without shifting low. Makes a 30 mile ome way commute a bit pricey. Love the rig, though.

    Transmision swap

Only had it a couple of weeks, so I haven't a clue how it wound up with a 4-speed. Thanks for the info.

    Transmision swap

Have an 89 YJ, four-cylinder four-speed. Contemplating switching to a five-speed. Any considerations such as drive-shaft length and transfer case?

    Wheel hop fun.

It does OK when I hit larger bumps, but it seems that it's the smaller ones, like old patches or joints that start the show. It also feels like when I'm driving into a quartering wind or across the wind, it doesn't seem to do it as much. It wants to but it doesn't quite get there.

    Wheel hop fun.

Always in a straight line, no lockers, and it's in 2 hi.

    Wheel hop fun.

Just bought an 89 wrangler yj. Lately I've been having problems with the front end 'hopping'. At a certain speed with the steering at a certain angle the front tires start, walking is as best as I can say. This happens when the speedo reads 55 or a bit over and stops when it reads 40 or so...
