what are the do's and dont's of a timing job

Soft hammer slowly tapped it in. Got it as far as I could then drew it in with the bolt It has a woodruff key so you can't mess it up. Use two bolts from your pulley kit on the balancer to hold it in place to torque it.

Mind has a Popping on deceleration. It is a exhaust gasket leak

Don't move the cam or crank. Reinstall the set as you took it off

    YJ stumbling

Alright you did know the answer. I just discounted the O2 because of no CEL and I never knew the cat was plugged. It just seemed to be something different

JPNinPA IS RIGHT!!! Stumbled upon an article for a grand Cherokee that gave this theory The O2 heats faster then the engine. O2 is heated by the exhaust. A bad O2 will cause a bad signal until it warms up. A minute or do later the computer starts reading signals and changes the fuel air mix...

Have a helper hold the screw driver through the slot in the gear.

Oh yah Another thing. You need to torque the cam bolt When you get to tightening it your going to put the slack on the top side of the chain. Make sure you turn it slightly back so the slack is on the bottom side. Don't worry it won't effect anything but you want the top to be tight

what are the do's and dont's of a timing job

I literally did this on Sunday Luis Before you take the chain off make reference marks from the sprocket to the chain from the cam and crank. Simple marks. Slide a screwdriver through the slots to hold the cam gear in place while you unbolt it. There are edges to get leverage on behind the...

I'm very frustrated with this all. Out of patience and money New cat put on today They said it was plugged. So I'm all happy and soon as I pull out from getting it all done it still does it. Stopped and did a computer reset and still the same Now I idle lower then before BUT I have more...
