    Engine stall

Following - I am having similar problem with my 1982 cj7 258. As with any issue I have with my jeep, the first step I take is logging into jeepz.com and right away I saw this thread. I'm going to take some of the same steps and hope to solve. Question - Could a partially blocked or clogged...

    1988 YJ fuel problem

Not saying this is causing your problem but the way you describe I had very similar problem with a '90 YJ. After pulling my hair out I took it to an "old timer" independent mechanic who specialized in jeeps. He had the answer within 20minutes, ended up being something I never would have...

The Oldest Jeep You have ever owned

sweet! my dad used to tell me about a willys wagon he had s his first car, I don't remember the year. He got it for free then paid $25 for an engine. It was long gone by the time I appeared (I'm 52). I wish I could've seen it

What did you do to your Jeep today?

My project plans are typically are governed by fixing or replacing whatever breaks next! Right now that would be finding and fixing a power steering fluid leak. Early spring she get a wash when the soft top is still on to wash off the New England winter sand and salt, then the top is...

1999 Jeep Wrangler, fuel smell/ acceleration issues/ slight sputtering

wouldn't hurt to check the hard line fuel lines for "weeping", it certainly would help explain the fuel smell. I'm adding this suggestion because I had the issue with my lines about two years ago. It was frustrating because I could smell gas but I was looking for dripping leaks then noticed...

    CJ7 Catalytic Converter

once I got everything out (sawzall=the miracle tool) the cat was actually pretty solid so I ended up reinstalling it. The old girl is running great. I love seeing built up jeeps appreciate the sound of a good exhaust but as any replacement needs pop up with my '82 I try staying with stock...

    CJ7 Catalytic Converter

I need to replace muffler and tailpipe. Cat is not looking too good either. I have an 82 CJ7 and am exempt from emissions at yearly state inspection. I'm thinking running straight from front exhaust to new muffler to tailpipe. Question is in anyone's experience, is anything gained/lossed in...

The installation of those horses could have been in the "What did you do to your jeep today thread" a few year ago...who knows :)

What did you do to your Jeep today?

(actually 2weeks ago) Put the soft top back on for the winter...I go most of the year with only a bikini top on board. I push it off as long as I can but a couple of Sundays ago we had a 50 degree day so I figured it was a decent day to stretch the canvas. I should have waited, tomorrows...

    scary moment

I've been driving jeeps for about 25years now and still remember the first time (with 31x10.5) I felt like I lost control on pavement in a deeper puddle or snow. Not a good feeling so quickly (no pun intended) learned to slow down

    Center caps

I have an '82 cj7 with black "wagon wheel" style wheels and those same chrome center caps. They were also rusty and looked terrible...rusty chrome on black. I had my tires off while replacing the rear suspension and decided I would paint them black. Worked out fine, of course I scratched them...

    1982 CJ7 Exhaust Pipe

Hey guys, it took a while, here's my update... The pipe for the '83 with the injection fitting DID fit my '82. I clamped the fitting shut using a bench vise and then a quick weld and I was good to go. Worst part was lying underneath reaching up to remove the "knuckle-buster" nuts from the...
