    Tires

Thanks for the info, will have to make the plunge soon, the picture with the penny tells me I have better hurry, on my tires, the tread barely makes the ridge on the penny.

    Tires

I have a new to me 2000 Cherokee, 6 cylinder that as far as I know, is stock. The tires will need to be replaced in the near future, so was wondering what would be a good tire. Most tire places want to sell me a tire that rides smooth and corners great, I tell them if I had wanted a sports...

    Fan diode

Thanks for the info, not sure about the ac pressure, but the coolant temp is around 220 or so guess the engine does not get hot enough. Have yet to hear the fan, no matter what is running and for how long. Guess I'll go with "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

    Fan diode

I have been trying to fix my auxiliary fan on my 2000 xj sport with 6 cyl. As far as I know this fan has never worked with or without AC. I have tested relays, ground thermostat relay etc. with no result. The fan will run with direct current. All fuses are good. The book says check the fan...

    Chrysler Engine Control Unit Computer

I have a control unit - p56041 634AF (180861586829) I bought it on Ebay thinking I needed it, I found out this was not the problem so I am offering it for sale. I will take $75.00 plus shipping. The computer was removed from a 2000 Jeep with 4.0 engine. As far as I know it is in good working...

    Ambient Air Temp Sensor

Was looking through my online technical manual and found a connector for a ambient air temp. Of course on my jeep the plug is there, but no sensor? Maybe I don't need it because the jeep runs pretty good. 2000 Jeep Cherokee, 6 cylinder automatic.

    Transfer case not shifting

I know this has been discussed many times but mine is a little different. When investigating sluggish shifter, and reading all the valuable information on this forum, I decided it was time to remove the console and lube the linkage. After much head scratching and holding my tongue just right I...

    Believe It Or Not

Will do, and thanks for the info, I convinced my buddy to help with brake fluid change, seems fluid has never been changed, kinda black, also we changed the antifreeze, it too was black with a large amount of black sludge in the overflow bottle-- not good I assume.

    Believe It Or Not

I have a new to me 2000 Cherokee with 4.0 engine and automatic, my first automatic. I am not into mud bogging or rock climbing but do like for my vehicles to perform correctly and be mechanically sound. I do use it for hunting so am in the "wild" at times. I have no records for this rig so do...

And another question, Cherokee Front end

When under the front of my 2000 Cherokee with 6 cyl. I noticed what appears to be mounting plug like on the fender wells, but the problem is there is nothing mounted. Is there supposed to be a skid plate or something? Seems awful naked :???:

Oh Where Did The Freon Go

Thanks will keep looking. The tech said the system has dye in it, so all I need is a black light.....reminds me of the disco days.....:shades:

Oh Where Did The Freon Go

:???: I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with about 100000 miles, has the 4.0 engine. For some reason the freon just vanishes. It has a new compressor and leak tested twice with two different machines. The vacuum has been dropped to 200 mico things, and refilled. Currently it is cooling but for...

    Transmission myth ?

I recently obtained a 2000 Cherokee with 99000 miles. I do not know the history, but I changed the coolant because it was black with thick sludge in the overflow container. With this in mind, I wonder if the transmission was serviced? I have heard if an automatic transmission has never been...
