No I drive a 91 YJ on 1 tons with a 350 tbi. We do the southern part of state in the winter and the central/ northern part in the summer. Being central in the state we have the best of both worlds.

    front axel

You can switch the front to outer hub style, but it is expensive. The hub conversion is $450 and then you have to change your outer shaft at right around $200 each side. So for an estimate $750 you can do this. The benifits of doing this is that if you break a front axle (I have several...

    350 tbi project

I have a 350 TBI in my 91 YJ, same tub and frame dimensions as your 7. I used an SM465 with the Dana 300. I can take some photo's if you like on how it sits in there.

First Dana 35 gives problem and now Dana 44, advice

Pull the cover on the 44 and check the back lash and pinion depth using gear paint. The PO may have done some work on it or the pinion bearing prteload may be off. If anyone replaced the yoke it could easily be the pinion bearing preload.

My jeep died and wont start..

Check the crank sensor. If it's bad you can crank all you want and it won't start.

Broken bolts on CJ7 transmission crossmember

I have had the same problem on a couple of my CJ's and one recently on my YJ. I made a "C" channel that fit around my frames, drilled large enough holes for a 1/2-13 nut to fit in the frame channel, welded nuts to the inside of the "C" channel and through bolted the channel to the frame. That...

    SpringOverConv.

No, I changed out the stock pitman arm with a 4" drop pitman, that was it. Nothing fancy, no special links, no death wobble. I did add two inch wheel spacers to my sons CJ5 because it has the narrow track axles and it needed a little wider stance to make it feel for stable on the hi-way. The...

    SpringOverConv.

I just finished my 4th spring over this weekend. I never buy the perches and I never reuse the old ones. Get a 12" piece of 2" x 4" tubing and using a 2.5" hole saw drill two holes on one side in the center and two on the oposite side. Split it with a cut off wheel and you have 4 perches. If...

    puzzled by new noise

I know this sounds like duh but my son just when through the same thing with his jeep and after going through all the testing of removing front drive shaft, then the rear with the front reinstalled we found the transfer case mounting bolts were loose. They looked tight but in fact had worked...

Look for a loose or dirty connection on the gage light circuit ground. This happened to me once amd all I had to do was clean the grounding strap and was good to go.

    85 CJ7 Squirrely front end

I installed a Rancho steering stabelizer and replaced the tie rods on my 85 CJ7 which had 14k mile at the time. It really improved the steering stability.
