Crank sensor times spark, has nothing to do with no crank. If the engine won't spin over then it has to do with either, battery, starter, switch or anti-theft system. Starts and dies sounds more like an anti theft issue. If it were the crank sensor it would still crank but wouldn't start.

I tore my soft top this morning, I have a repair kit but I was thinking about replacing it with a hard top. My jeep is an '06 TJ. What year tops would fit this? And what would I need for mounting hardware? Thank for your help. :-)

Any raw fuel smell? Leaky injector(s) perhaps?

There have been cases of filters breaking down and clogging oil galleries but I don't believe that is the case here. After rereading your original post I kind of hate to condemn the pump but all logics point to the relief valve.

I agree, it shouldn't be doing that. But, the only thing that controls OP is the relief valve. 13-75psi is the range. The pump could have been sitting on the shelf for awhile.

Either its a high volume pump or the relief valve is stuck.
