actually.... it is an AMC20 rear, and a dana35 front. As far as transmission's go, the t-5 is a decent transmission. i personally prefer the 5 speed over the 4, but if you get a 4-speed you'll definetly want the T-176, it's a good one. However you could look at a switch..... such as an...

Can I offer some advice??? Find a local jeep club. There's an endless amount of learning to be done when you learn from watching and listening to the pro's. And most clubs are quite happy with showing new jeepers the ropes. go to www.quadratec.com and go to 4x4 clubs in the USA, they...

an easy way to find some is to go to http://www.quadratec.com and go to 4x4 clubs in the USA, they list them by state, so that should get you started.[addsig]

as a general rule, if your jeep see's more road time than trail time, you don't want boggers. they're not meant for frequent street use, and they cost too much to wear out quickly (which they will )[addsig]

wanna know a cool way to get them out? do you have a welder/know how to weld? get yourself a spare nut and weld it to the top of the stripped torx, by welding inside of the hole. then grab yourself a ratchet and..... works like magic, as long as you do it right.[addsig]

Sounds alot like a seized u-joint to me. i'd start takin that wheel apart. Take your hub apart and check it for damage.... now if your gonna be going down to the axle shaft you'll need a spindle nut socket to go any further. make sure you know how all of this goes back together. once...

you really do not want to lose your spare. A swing away carrier is almost a necessity when you move up to larger tires. the stock carrier will not hold that large of a tire safely, and simply putting another bracket on the stock carrier doesn't help much either. You can go with a swing...

yep...... first of all check the steering box mounting bracket.... if they are not tightened down real good your box will move around when you steer and that will cause alot of the problem. You may want to replace your tie rod and drag link. that can help too. If that fails, you need a...

check in a quadratec magazine. Wilderness offroad products makes a rack like that. what looks different about his rack is he has his lights, shovel and jack mounted on it. wilderness sells one with mounts for those. www.quadratec.com[addsig]

check and make sure that your hubs are not locked when you are in 2WD.... if they are locked in 2wd at higher speeds it will make those noises.
