I have a 97 Tj with a 4cyl and standard transmission. Just recently something started popping every time I shift gears. It happens right as I let off of the clutch and if there is any load the pop sounds like a small grind. I cannot duplicate this noise in 4low. Does this sound like a transfer...
I do have some home-made ones, heim joints on both ends of some threaded rod, I guess I should pull them off for the next round of process of elimination. I will be quite suprised if they make that loud of a pop though.
My NEW Jeep!!!!
Poop jokes I was expecting but not the pope jokes.
It pops when I either go around a corner or when I whip the steering wheel back and forth.
I need to check the uper end of the track bar. I was concentrating too much on the lower end if it because of the trackbar bracket...
Got the winch on!
I have been out of the Jeep scene for a while now. My TJ has pretty much confined to "on road" conditions only. Recently I have noticed a loud pop in the front end and can not figure out its origin. I have crawled under the

Doing the slip yoke eliminator real soon and getting rid of the transfer case drop. Anyone make their own crossmember? I want to tuck everything up between the frames. What type of material should I use to construct one?

I am looking at a Ford rear end and was wondering if running the factory 4.10's in front and the Ford 4.11 in the rear would work. The ratios are close but I do not know my stuff when it comes to diffs.
Thanks
