I have a friend that is looking for a t4 to put back into his CJ7 it has a 258 in the Jeep now. (I think it's an 82) My question on this is simple. Is there a difference in the size of the input shaft or the pilot bearing between the 4 cylinder version and the 6 cylinder version?:???:
That's the end goal... by then I'll have built a dana 60 and custom trussed 9 inch.... right now... I'm just gonna run 35 or 36 inch tires. I have a 2 inch custom shackle lift and a 4 inch spring lift (that is yet to be put on) and I want to eventually go to the larger set up doing a soa lift...
OK.. think I found the culprit... unfortunately I think it's the lobe one cam is wiped.. I'm almost 100% on this.. so I"m just gonna buy an electric pump and bypass it...
Hey I know I posted about this previously... but ... I bought a set of Dana 44 axles off my buddy. They are off of a International Scout. What do I need to do to put these under my 78 CJ5? I have NarrowTrac Axles now. I'm worried that with this built 360 my stock axles won't be able to hold up...
Well I know that the pump is good.. I took it off my old 304 which was a running motor.. not sure the pump was the issue though.
i bypassed the rollover check valve.. and still no fuel.. wondering if I should bypass the liquid check valve too.. but the last pic posted is the same one I show in...
I'm glad we got saddle tramp back on the right track...lol but I'm still stuck. I put a new fuel pump on and it didn't resolve the issue. I learned a bit from reading through saddle tramps problem, and I am gonna post a pic of my check valve and (other unknown part) behind my tail light.
But the...
The lines are good.. and the check valve is mounted on the drivers side in the rear behind the tail light.. it's a stock feature it's even in the chiltons manual.
I'm just not sure if its really necessary.
but I think I finally figured out the third line...
one fuel .. One return... one canister
Ok......... so I just finished putting the 360 in my CJ5 got everything back in place and bolted down. I can fuel it by priming the carb.. it runs great.. but I'm not getting any fuel to the carb through the lines. A friend of mine said the check valve might be bad, but I can't find them...
a buddy of mine is really into International scouts. He and I were talking about one that he found that has a set of Dana 44s under it. he is only interested in the vin plate and frame. I want the axles. My question is how hard is it to swap those into my 78 CJ5? it's a narrow trac system now...
Any personal suggestions on the one piece axles... any one brand better than another?
and the only reason I brought up the motor mounts was because after 30+ years they might need a touch up...lol
