I used to have some rubbing while turning at full lock(31's), but the rubbing is gone now. And im not sure if it is me, or what, but I swear the jeep sits higher. Same tires as before, but it definitely seems higher.
Does anyone know what size the front and rear door speakers are in the Commander? The factory speakers need to go and Im looking for direct fit replacements. Also the front dash speakers, what size? While we are at it....how hard is it to get the door panels off the switch out the speakers...
Well the belt I took off mine had cracks about 3/4 through the thickness of the belt. I still get a squeal till the jeep is warmed up. It goes away once its warmed up. I may take it to the local garage and have it looked over since its my daily driver.
I had a buddy put a 400 Ford motor into an 87 yj. Other than new motor and transmission mounts it went in just fine. A little cutting was needed for the Ford shifter to fit though.
Turns out it was the idler pully. I went to the local auto parts store which had one in stock. I had it changed in about 10 min. I then noticed a squeal from the power steering pully. Turns out it was low on ps fluid. Once it was topped off no more funky squeals or whines.
I just changed the serpentine belt on my 95 yj (2.5L) and now there is a whining sound from either the power sterring pully or the adjustment pully which is below the p.s pully. Is it possible its just too tight. How tight should the belt be? Will i do any damage if its too tight?
