NP, that's one of the future items to do, rebuild the engine. Plan to have it dipped so it can be painted and stick.
Also plan on improving the braking system and front drive shaft, already done the rear drive shaft with a Tom Woods CV type.
Replaced transmission with the older version of the T18A. No longer have a problem with it jumping out of gear. Going to rebuild and have as a spare.
Replaced diff covers with some chrome ones. Just enjoying it this year, taking grandkids to the creek and the wife for evening rides.
In addition to the hydraulic brake lines, you'll also need to replace the emergency brake cables. If you haven't changed the transmission your front drive shaft will probably be ok.
The torque stud and all of the mounts you mention have been replaced, just did a complete frame out restore. Had purchase the transmission with a parts jeep and it was suppose to be good......
What can cause a T18 transmission to jump out of 4th gear?
The transmission is out of a 1979 CJ7 and has the 6.32 1st gear.
If you keep your hand on the shift, don't even have to apply pressure, it will stay in gear.
A few more pics of the latest progress. Task accomplished - engine compartment wiring complete, hood installed, fuel fill hose installed, heater ducts & wiper linkage installed.
