I finally got it installed :)
After spraying PB Blaster and scrubbing it in with a brush the old one came off fairly well. Installing the new one was another story. I had to fight for every inch. Using a heat gun helped. Before I could finish I had to unzip the side window but then I had...
The top is original, only the window I hope to install is aftermarket. Currently the problem is getting the factory window is what I'm having problems with.
I'll try scrubbing the zipper with a tooth brush.
We've been having 70s for the high lately. I could put it in my barn/shop but unless I...
My 2010 jk has a tear in the back window and my grandson gave me a new one [master top]
Are there any tricks to unzipping the old one? It hasn't been completely unzipped in over a dozen yrs. I can get it most of the way up the side but then nothing. I've been spraying the zipper with a kitchen...
Cold here too and while I've spent most of my life working outside this year I got half of my barn's floor concreted. Between that and a wood stove it's not too bad working in there in bad weather. Might not get it toasty but still nicer than outside. Last Friday me and my grandson replaced an...
The bushing is on :)
My oldest son came up. When he found out he couldn't just push it on he wrapped his thumb in elec tape and pushed it in. Now I just have to go back out there and finish things up ........ which should be easy.
I've tried channel locks but one side of the bushing goes in and the other side pops out. I feel like I just don't have enough strength in my fingers anymore. My grandson is off work today so hopefully he will have better luck.
Guess it won't be today, my great grandson was sick all night so...
Yes it's the bushing on the end where it hooks up to the transmission. The replacement bushing is clear.
If I don't get it on today I'll buy those pliers - I also belong to the can't have too many tools club.
I tried yesterday to use a bolt and washers to squeeze it on but it would turn...
The bushing on my automatic tranny linkage fell out and I'm having a hard time pressing the new one in. My fingers don't seem to be strong enough and pliers or channel locks won't squeeze it in straight - the bushing turns instead of going in. Any ideas ??
almost forgot, it's a 2010 JK
I had a 1990 XJ for 13 yrs. I replaced the TPS twice with an after market one during the first 6-7 yrs before replacing with a factory one so there maybe some truth in what JPN said. That TPS was still working correctly when I sold it.
