thanks everyone for the input! i'm actually going with a different jeep that i found locally (the other two were sight unseen buys). however, the one i'm getting is a 4 cyl. so, hopefully it will be powerful enough for my purposes! :) i'm looking fwd to joining the jeep owners club!

Hello - I'm new to the forum & am considering purchasing a 97 sahara wrangler from ebay. I had inquired about rust & the seller did indicate that there is some surface rust on the undercarriage, but nothing too concerning. I live in the southeast, so rust isn't really something I've dealt with...
