Ok guys I need some input and some help. I have a 85 cj7 that currently has a I6 258, T176 trans and a Dana 300 transfer case. I have acquired an 5.0L fuel injected 302 out of an 89 Lincoln Towncar. I know it is a speed density motor and I won’t get the same hp out of it as a HO motor but...
Hey guy I have an issue to deal. I was trying to recenter my steering wheel today and looked under the hood and grabbed my steering shaft and you can move it pretty good It is the borgeson steering shaft. I think the restainer has pooped out of the clip at the column near the wall I am attaching...
best place to get complete exhaust for CJ7
I usually reside on the CJ side for my 85 but a buddy of mine has a 91 yj and he is thinking about redoing his whole lift set up. He is wondering which will give him better performance and articulation. Money is not the issue. Should he go with the 6...
body mounts
I have an 85 cj7 with 4 superlift and half in daystar shackle. Granted I don't have a dana 44s but I don't see why you would have to have a trac bar. I had thought that I needed to fab a trac bar because of the terrible wandering and bumster but turned out to be the a tie rod...
Got everything on and running great Timing set at 8 degrees with TFI on 85 258. I have the idle mixture set correct. When I hit the gas hard sitting or accellerate hard I get a puff of black smoke. I am running 47 jets. I think they are the right size for me Accelerator pump is on the 2nd hole...
RE: headers
I'm in the middle of swapple the crap carter to the motorcraft. How do I get the mounting studs out of the dang manifold. Need help quick. Thanks guys
Randal
Any of you guys ever thought of just putting a throttle cable holder onto the manifold and turning the linkage into a back pull instead of a down pull by getting rid of the rest of the linkage and hooking the cable straight onto the stock throttle ball on the carb. Make room under the hood and...
Actually the 2100 should burn cleaner than the carter. I have read that plenty of people have passed emisions with the 2100. I'm about to put the 2150 the later version of the 2100 on my 85 when I get done you need any help give me a shout.

RE: Re: RE: Winches
I agree with Bounty. The receiver hitch is ok you just want to pull straight back or forth and you want to lug that heavy thing back and forth. Hope you are not by yourself and in the mud. It can be pretty heavy and slick too. I also have an 8274 and would not trade it...
RE: Re: MPG?
What year jeep are we talking about here. I know I tracked my rattle problems around for a long time. Kept hearing all kinds of valve noise at highways speeds. Set timing did TFI reset timing kept checking plugs after everything it finally ended up being my timing chain...
I have finally figured out what I am going to do about all the vacuum lines. Now I am wondering what I am going to do about the crank case vent. The 2150 had a port for this in the carb but it does not have a filter in it like in the old air assembly. Should I use that port or should I use a...
I have heard that the 1.21 is a pain to tune. From all that I have read it has to much cfm for the motor. I just bought a 1.08 for my 258 and am trying to figure out which power favlve to get and how to do all my vacuum stuff. I want to make this as easy as a swap as possible.
It sounds...
New socks and shoes for the Jeep
I ordered the Reman carb 2150 for a 79 ford pinto with 171 cu in. I had read that that version was the best to get. I am putting it on a 85 cj with a 258. According to napa it is suppose to have the yellow spring 6-7hg but it has the blue 2-3hg power valve in...
