yes the bushing or shim is the only thing it too long and does not fit between the bracket

I am trying to replace the Steering Stabilizer i purchased a new one and it does not fit the factory bracket do i have to modify the bushing? I actally bought two different ones and they both have bushing that are about 1/8 to long. it is a 1989 Cherokee Limited Thanks rick
