I plan to take it in today, but I like having an idea of what might be going on before I go in there.

I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler, with an oil problem. If you drive more than say like an hour, and get out you get this really bad oil smell coming from the engine. I have checked the engine out and find no leaks and such, but the smell persists. Also the oil is very black after only 1500 miles.
