What is the difference between stage 1 and stage 2 performance chip? I have a 01 tj 4 cyl stick.

Between 48-52 in 5th gear, at 48-52 in 4th gear it is ok, 5th above 52 it clears

Help!, when I get to 48-52 mph, my 01 4 cyl. starts jerking, a little faster and it quits, any suggestions?:???:
