We have a 1978 cj5 with an AMC 304. My husband and I have rebuilt our jeep. The problem is we will have oil pressure and then the next time we drive there will be no pressure. We have replaced oil pump and sender, have checked the wiring, new gauge, did clearance. Please help, I want to drive my jeep.

I don't have any ideas for you on this one. Were you able to figure it out?

My initial thought is an intermittent contact. Because of the age, thinking maybe worn out contacts? Bad connection somewhere in the line or in the connector, wiring or splice? My '91 DSM has a stupid slide contact that I put a tywrap on to keep a good contact.
Do you know if you actually have no oil pressure? Other semi-random thoughts..you didn't mention you were burning oil and I'm not second guessing your build but how's compression, any blow by or valve seal condition? Condition of the crank? Just some thoughts if you were actually not having good pressure
