Water Pump, 258-6 Engine
Before you install that new water pump, take a look at the pump-impeller to see what rotation direction it requires. Sometimes both standard (v-belt) pumps and reverse-rotation (serpentine-belt) pumps have the same part number and no markings to indicate which is which ... the reverse-rotation pump is supposed to have an "R" stamped on the impeller or molded into the pump casting. See the picture, and, avoid a lot of head scratching when the motor overheats.
