    Re: Need help

I am not familiar with the Liberty, but on my TJ I would assume that it is a combination of tie rods and alignment. Generally, a steering wheel not returning to center is an alignment issue.
  2. Picked up some cool new socket wrenches

I was working on my mom's Jetta and had a really hard time getting my socket wrench into some tight spaces. I found these socket wrenches at harbor freight $26 with a lifetime warranty. I really dig...

    Re: fuel pump removal

Any chance you could post a photo of the area you are talking about.
I've never worked on a 1993 Cherokee myself, but my 2005 TJ took quite a bit of work to lower the tank. I had to lower a few...

    Re: Lift for disabled person

Every suspension lift I've seen has been rougher than stock. Having said that, I really only have experience with Rough Country lifts.

You can lift your Jeep with a body lift, about 1 to 1.5...

Re: Where is this oil coming from?

No, I didn't do anything like that.
Honestly, I'm learning as I go here - I had never had that much of the engine apart before. I may have to do more research into what you describe though.

Re: Ball and U joint press

I've never used a press for the driveshafts or axles, since you can take them off the Jeep and work on a bench, I usually use two sockets (a big one to receive the cup, and a smaller one to pound it...

    Re: Spare tire lug spins

can you take the carrier off the Jeep?
If the mount is trash, you may try to use an angle grinder to cut it off from the back.

Re: Where is this oil coming from?

I hadn't really thought that the fan would blow the oil back - makes sense.
I'll check my power steering levels, however it really does look like dirty oil.

Where is this oil coming from?

I recently changed my rear main seal, so I had the oil pan removed. Before that, my jeep dripped a fair amount of oil from several locations (hard to tell with my oil pan skid plate). Now that the...

I really like that "beach rated" badge. I may have to get one of those.

    Welcome to Jeepz.com

Those seats are in really good condition, I see why you'd want to keep them.

I see your front seat for sale on ebay here:

I finally finished this rear main seal job, and added it to my build thread:

Re: TerryMason's 2005 Jeep TJ Build

For years I've had a leak in my rear main seal. I decided to finally do something about it.

Started by removing the engine skid plate. This thing was covered with grime

    I then pulled...

Re: FYI - Radio upgrade for my 06 LJ Rubi.

Looks good. I'm a huge fan of Crutchfield - they are very helpful, and they're based in my home state of Virginia.

They'll pricematch too, so if you see it cheaper on Amazon, they will match it.

Re: New Top 2012 2dr Wrangler

I agree, Bestop is generally believed to be the best manufacturer of tops.

Re: Tips on replacing a 4.0 rear main seal?

Im 50% done. I managed to knick the top seal trying to put it in so I had to buy a second set.

I tried lubricating the top seal with dishwashing soap and water but it was still a real bear....

I think you're right. I watched one video and it was a guy cussing the person who did it before him (who put RTV everywhere).

What do you think about using both a gasket and some RTV? I've watched a few videos, and most just use a gasket, but this guy used a gasket and RTV at the ends

    Re: YJ or TJ ?

    I've got a TJ with 2.5 inch suspension lift , a 1.5 inch body lift and 33s.

A 4 banger will push 33s with a regear, but you loose the top speed on the freeway. I'd also note that if you're not...

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by the tab or no tab on the seal. Here's the seal that I bought. Does it look like the right stuff?

    Re: Hello old friends!!!

Hey Mingez! Hope you're doing good man.

I'm on the fence about the new Broncos. I loved the old ones (of just about any year). Maybe the new ones will grow on me.
