Re: Happy to be a new Jeep owner

Welcome! And congrats on the Jeeo.

Jeeping can truly become a lifestyle, and the large majority of folks with Jeeps are pretty good folks.

You might want to look into clubs or Jeep events and...

    Re: Motor upgrade

The 4.0 engine was a pretty good one. If you don't think you need the extra horsepower, I'd stay closer to stock for reliability. If you want to perk up the low end, you can find a cam that will do...
  5. Re: New guy- increasing height on JK economically

Caution with the budget lifts that go to 4" or more. You might save on the lift but end up buying yourself a bunch of alignment challenges and maybe even the famous death wobble.

    I went with a...
  6. Re: 2005 TJ windshield frame and bolts seized, broken, extractor snapped off..HELP

Try Liquid Wrench, wet the bolt, then lightly tap tap tap with a small ball peen hammer. The tap tap tap helps the Liquid Wrench get into the threads. Repeat every few hours for 24 hours. Then try...

    Re: Dealth wobble????

Check your entire front suspension for any extra wiggle, including all joints and connections. Check wheel/tire balance using a dynamic balancer...if too much weight needs to be added, remove the...

    Re: Oil type & weight

Use the type of oil originally specified for the engine. Fir exampke, don't use 20w-50 in an engine designed for 5w-30. The engineers that designed the engine do know a few things.

Re: 94 YJ pulling left when accelerating

I don't recall the suspension detsils on the 94s. But I'd check the motor mounts and track bars. Sounds like something is twisting up under load and then untwisting when you let off...this can't be...

Re: Ways to Keep Warm in Your RTT

Make sure your tent is the right size for the group. The larger the tent, the more bodies it will take inside to warm it up.

Get good sleeping bags rated to the temperature you need. Don't go...

    Re: Awnings

Nope. I laugh at the folks with all the junk tied to their Jeep. Not my cup of tea.

A temporary tarp awning might make some sense. Attatch one end to the Jeep and the other to a tree or pole...

  16. Re: Looking into upgrading gears. Average costs?

When you have the work done, do bearings and seals at the same time....you will be glad you did.

I'd get it done by a pro.... it is not hard to do, but if you have not done it, it is best to go to...

  19. Re: 97 grand cherokee laredo I6 not turning over after spark plug and wire change

Pull a plug and see if you are getting a spark when the engine is cranking / turning over. I suspect the coil is not being energized. Perhaps the coil wires were disturbed during the other work.

Re: Considering New or Used Jeep

    Matt,
A Jeep Wrangler is not a Lexus or Toyota, so don't buy one expecting the Lexus or Toyota ride or fuel economy. You will be trading a lot of ride and some fuel economy for a bunch of fun,...
