    Re: Carb upgrade..

Hmm... haven't researched that one. Maybe you can strip off all the electrical junk and have a straight up carb?
I think the biggest concern is the jet and venturi size. Make sure it'll run rich...

    Re: Carb upgrade..

You must use a gasket made for the carb, not the adapter. I think there is usually a big, 1/4 in. thick, rubber/cork/whatever gasket that is between the 2100/2150 and a V8 manifold. If you find one,...

    Re: Tea 18 time.

Thanks for the info! I'll call him and try to weasel some more information from him. He doesn't know Jeep stuff well. I doubt he can even tell me from what year the transmissions came; they were...

    Tea 18 time.

    My T5 is toast.

I found a rebuilt T18/D20 assumed to be from a late 70's Jeep with a "V8 bellhousing" for a decent price. I only spoke to the seller, so I haven't looked at the transmission yet....

    Re: Carb upgrade..

I have a mc2100 on mine. It's a 1.08 with 48 jets, and it runs way too lean. My spark plugs are white.

I'll also say that getting the carb and its adaptor to seal perfectly is a pain. I've taken...

Re: Best Carb to buy for the 258

    Bump. :D

I completely take back what I said. I was typing out of my :bootyshake:.
At least on my 258, 1.08 is way too lean. I have 48 sized jets, an Edelbrock triangle filter, and an old muffler...

Re: I have renewed faith in today's youth

Eh, musical taste is subjective, and I don't think cover music is really any hope. Original stuff is where it's at.

I will agree, though. I hate the music my friends like. In fact, if it's played...

    Re: Exhaust Options???

If you price it out, an exhaust shop might cost less than a bolt-in, DIY exhaust kit from Magnaflow or whomever. Just tell them what you want, and they'd probably weld up a nice system for you. It...

    Re: 68 Commando

My tie rod and steering arm are pretty tight. Not much help, but way to get an old Commando. They're sweet.

My 7 does that sometimes, too. I just add it to the Weird Noise List.

    Re: Max Lift and Tires

Well, I haven't driven it for extended periods of time yet, but I got to fifth gear very quick. Before, I was using fifth with 2.73's, but that gave me crap for gas mileage. I was bogging it down...

    Re: Max Lift and Tires

Depending on the sacredness of you Jeep, I would trim out the fenders and keep everything as you have now.

    Re: lockers

I welded the rear in my Jeep. People over dramatize the driving manors of spools and welded diffs. It's light stuff... in dry conditions, at least. I haven't driven in rain or snow yet.

Re: should I upgrade these axles?

Those have to be the most arched springs I have ever seen.

The axles depend on your tire size. I would try to find some 3/4 tons since it looks like you're going to put on some combine tires and...

    Re: changing my gear ratio

Yeah, $200 was just labor. I don't want to calculate the total cost for that rear axle... ignorance is bliss in this case.
