Re: Brought home a new project

We're tearing up the cul-de-sac! The kids are too big, so I pulled the seats out and put a board it there to sit on. Works pretty good.

The 20v DeWalt drill battery really moves this thing.

    Seat bushings

My 2005 TJ has these plastic bushings on the seat. A few of them have broken off however I can't see that it really impacts the seat function. Does anyone know if these are replaceable and more...

Re: Brought home a new project

Looks like it was junked because the shifter micro switch was bad. So I bought a new shifter and instead of buying a battery for it got an adapter to allow me to use my 20 volt dewalt batteries in...

Re: A YJ for my Dad

    Good stuff!
When you made the brake lines, did you have to flare them yourself? I've tried and failed at that many times - the last time I just went to the auto parts store and found a pre-made...

Re: Best Brakes for the Money?

I used all powerstop the last time I did a brake job on my TJ, and I'm pretty happy with them. I had the same slotted / drilled rotors.

I had never heard of powerstop about 3-4 years ago, and now...

    Re: Battery hooked up backwards

I like doing stuff myself, but this isn't bad advice. Maybe just let them diagnose the issues, and you fix them yourself.

    Brought home a new project

Not sure which direction I'll take. I'm thinking LS swap, put wife doesn't think the kids can handle it.

Re: What did you do to your Jeep today?

What did you go with for a stereo? I've been happy with mine, but it's got to be 7 years old. Does have bluetooth though. I've thought about upgrading, but I'm not sure how weatherproof the new...

    Re: Animal in your vehicle

I've got this problem with mice in my boat. It's just a cheap fishing boat, but it was frustrating that the mice wanted to chew on everything. I ended up using about $20 worth of mouse bait. ...

Re: 1987 CJ How Reasonable to Restore

Does it have round headlights (CJ) or square (YJ)?
As superj mentioned, the carb is going to be the only hard part, and you just just replace that.
As long as it's not super rusty I'd say go for it.

How is the negative battery terminal connection? Make sure that is nice and clean at all connections.

Check to see if there are any engine codes.

Next, I'd look to see if you're getting spark...

Re: What did you do to your Jeep today?

I've bled so may brakes that I've gotten pretty good at it. I like to use a piece of aquarium tubing over the bleeder valve, down into a soda bottle. It keeps things from getting messy, and helps...

    Re: Getting a "Popping" Noise......

In my TJ, I'd try pulling the rear driveshaft, then put it in 4x4 and see if I heard the sound then. That would rule out the rear driveshaft and axle.

If memory serves though, on older...

Re: Can anyone ID this TJ bumper?

    Hey thanks!
I didn't realize they had doubled up on the hitches - that is a bit goofy.

Maybe I'll look into something like this:

Re: Can anyone ID this TJ bumper?

Sadly, there is very little in the way of compensation.

The hitch was separate and bolted to the frame. It was a pretty simple bumper, but I think that's what I like about it.

Re: Cpl Recon's 92 YJ Project

    Noooo......

Would a JK be wide enough on the back to seat three? I know my TJ is barely wide enough for two people back there.
    What about an XJ?
