    Re: 76 n Still Jeepin1

I have a 2002 as well. It's a Sahara 4.0. The original owner did not include the hard top, so all I have is the original soft top. 41,000 original miles!

    Welcome to the forum.
  2. Re: Should I trade in these Craftsman USA ratchets?

If they were mine, I'd keep them and then see if I could find a rebuild kit.

Years ago, my rachet had an issue and the Sears tool clerk rebuilt it in the store making it as good as new. The clerk...
  3. Re: Engine is going bad, what options for replacement?

Why not rebuild the 3.8? That will save all the conversion headaches.

Re: Blow torch to re-activate clear coat?

Have your buddy do a demonstration on his Jeep's fender so you can better understand the technique. He might change his advice.

Re: Going to try my hand at welding

You have the HF welder, give it a try. It might be just what you need and good enough.

If you don't get the welds you want after some practice, take a class, then look into a MillerMatic or...

Re: New to the form and new to Jeep

35s? That is a lot of tire. You are definitely going to need to regear and likely need to go to a Dana 44 or Dana 60 axles if your Jeep came with less robust axles.

    Automatic ir manual?

    And...

Re: Help me price this off road cherokee

The mods make it hard to price. A mod done poorly can significantly detract from the vehicle's value and the ownership experience. For example, good luck tracing any existing or future problems...
  10. Re: New Jeep owner wonders if all Jeeps are very rusty underneath

My '02 TJ has almost zero rust. I doubt it has ever been driven on a beach or salted roads. I live in a pretty dry area with no snow, and any snow nearby is cleared and cinders are spread instead...

Re: Exhaust Pipe Dented Need to Replace?

IMHO, the dent does not look big enough to be a perftomance problem.

    Re: Upgraded my lawnmower

    Nice hack.

I ditched the last of my grass/lawn area about five years ago for water conservation reasons and because the only one on that lawn was me mowing it! I have not regretted that move yet....

Re: What should I get for my birthday?

How about a nice knife from Buck, Case, or Anza? Case and Anza have some really purdy knives for yor beloved to choose from.

Don't jump into the "if I wanted something, I'd just go and buy it...

    Re: Mismatched paint? [emoji848]

Carfax only picks up what is reported. Many body shops don't report and there may have been no insurance claim. So it might not be a Jeep problem, but a repair problem.

    Re: Spare tire lug spins

Weld a bolt to the same spot you are trying to hold with locking pliers. Or grind a flat spot on opposite sides and try to use an adjustable wrench to hold it.

Re: Paint failing only on the hood. Options?

It depends on how good you want it to look. If you remove the hood, about any autobody shop could prep it and paint it whatever color you want. Or, why not remove ut, prep it, and shaker can paint...

    Re: lockers for front

I have Eaton E-Lockers in front and back of my TJ. I really like them and they are easy to use and wire.

Re: Big issue with My 2008 Jeep Sahara

Were you winching with it running?

Check your battery connections first. If that does not resolve the issue, try a jump start....the winch may have depleted the battery if the battery was weak,...
