Have you had any other dash cluster issues besides the airbag light? I bad BUS connection to the gauge cluster can cause all sorts of problems.

The lift height you mention and speedo gears do not apply to JK's. I think you're thinking of pre-'07 Jeeps.

In '96 the factory tow package consisted of a factory 2" receiver hitch, the Chrysler 8.25" rear axle, and an external transmission cooler.
Pay attention to tongue weight as well as trailer... -

Add a quart of ATF to the oil and see if the noise changes.
If it's loud and changes with RPM it could be a busted piston skirt. -

Just make sure the pulley matches your belt, and you might need to turn the plastic boot around the pos post a little to match your stock alternator. The 136a is a good easy upgrade for those...

It's an electrical switch on the vacuum disconnect motor attached to the front axle. The problem is most often a vacuum leak not allowing the vacuum disconnect to function as designed.

You shouldn't have to pump the accelerator on start-up of a fuel injected engine, the computer does it for you. I'd have the Jeep scanned for trouble codes at the local parts store to check the...
