Thanks Jay79!! Had not heard about the GM control module swap when doing the TFI swap... that certainly improves my desire to go that direction. I'm going to search for some info on that module swap now.... any links you are aware of? Thanks again.

79cj5, 258.... looking to upgrade the stock ignition to either GM HEI or FORD TFI.... any opinions?? Ford swap would be easier and a little less $$$, but i do like the simplicity of the GM system.... coil is integrated and could do away with the control box. Anyone have any off road experience...

don't know anyone personally who has made the conversion to the holley 4, but i would think that would work best on an engine that has been modified to increase hp. motorcraft swap has been great so far.... better idle and definitely a big improvement off road on inclines.

70 CJ5 258 Swapped in a Motorcraft 2100 carb last week.... runs great. Only problem was the carb was off a 1971 Ford Truck and didn't have a port for PVC. For now i am using the vacuum port that i think was originally used to provide heat to the choke coil to assist in heating it up??? Not...
