yes I have two mixture screws when I floor it from a stop it goes immediately, no stumbeling or anything until i get to 4 rpm. without fail. it doesnt try to die until i reach 4 rpm and if i keep my foot down, it will completely. but if i come off within 3-5 sec then it falls down to .5-1 rpm...

I remembered where one of the wires were and I just worked from there. I'm back to square one. I have the deep gurgling and back firing when I press more than 1/2 way down on the gas. Also now I have a new symptom, the engine when wide open quits at 4 rpm and sometimes pick up around 1 rpm but...

Well, I'm not really sure where 8th cylinder firing point is on this distributor because it doesn't match the diagram I have. Ofcourse my diagram is of a amc 304 but I'm not really sure if the hei will match to the distributor in the diagram. Do you know if it does? Can you show me where your 8...

no this wasnt a thing where I was guessing. I was looking at a diagram with a left bank and right bank but i guess i mixed it up.

nm i was wrong about the firing order :(........so ill undo what i just did, tomorrow.

Im sure the timing is right, I'm going to double check the firing order. Also I did adjust the seats and the throttle while cold, so I'll have to change that.

Any other advice? When I put my foot down on the gas it kind of sounds like it's all under water, like that king of gargling.

I increased my throttle and I can now do cold starts more easily. But I haven't tested it for the prob I previously described but I'll test it tomorrow. Just wanted to give you a update!

I think I have a carb problem. I have an amc 360, eldebrock intake mani, and eldebrock carb 4bbl. This has all been recently set up and I'm running into problems with the carb(I think, I'm not really sure). What is happening is that I can only push down on the gas pedal half way before it starts...

I have the same set up. You should change to a 5 speed trany. Idk what trany fits but there was a thread on this topic earlier. I'll see if I can find it.

So the shifter is out and your just looking for the hole to put the shifter pole back in?

Thanks and it's not stock. It's got hooker headers, eldebrock manifold, eldebrock carb, and hei distributor. I love it!
