Steel braided line only. Rubber expands when in high pressure and makes the brakes work less. This multiplys over the length of the line. Steel braided lines do not meaning even tho they are longer they work better. I think mine are from rough country. Not sure tho.

Is it ok to replace this entire length with fuel rated rubber type line? The line going from the frame to the tank is rubber why can't the line up front be the same?

If you are talking about the trim it is held with little clips. If you take the trim off you will break one or two. Then you gotta fill the holes. I'd just leave it.

They are a little stiff but loosen up after a few months.
