I thought that Ox lockers had a failsafe embedded so that if the cable broke, they would default to the open diff position. I could be wrong, or it could be broken. Have you called the folks at Ox to see if they can help?

Here's what I ended up doing: Bought 2" X 1.5" rubber stoppers from the hardware store (3), and longer screws (2") with a matching thread pattern. Drilled holes through the stoppers, then mounted the stock rubber on top of them. Parts were around $12. Quick, cheap, and easy. See photos attached.
